Tenareze Armagnac Reserve - 10 years of aging which would qualify for 'XO' quality classification (this label however is reserved for their 20 year old Armagnac).

Light amber orange with yellow tinge. Light and floral nose with vanilla and cinnamon. Smooth and elegant.  Notes of dried flowers, perfume, and incense immediately establish this as a more floral, lighter-bodied Armagnac — in contrast to what is more typical of the style, which tends to be bolder, sweeter, and more extracted. There’s lots of fruit on the palate, along with a gentle milk chocolate note, which melds surprisingly well with notes of rose petals and more of that incense character. On the finish, things sweeten up further, showing relatively straightforward graham cracker and caramel notes. It’s a touch thin on the back end, but this works well enough given the overall light body and gentle flavor profile of the brandy.

Chateau Pellehaut four centuries of history, producing Armagnac in the Tenareze sub-region. Tenareze has fuller flavour than Bas-Armagnac and Haut-Armagnac, but develops more slowly.

Pellehaut produces fine Armagnacs in the traditional style from Ugni Blanc and Folle Blanche, combining traditional methods and modern technology, using a wood-fired continuous still, aging their Armagnacs in 400 litre Limousin barriques.
