La Fea Carinena Tinto
Cariñena is a one of Spain's oldest established official wine DO, located in the Zaragoza province of Aragon. It is famous for giving the name to the Cariñena (Carignan) grape, but ironically the region mostly produces reds dominant in Garnacha (Grenache).
The La Fea red is a blend of 40% Garnacha, 40% Tempranillo, and 20% Syrah. After de-stemming and crushing, the grape macerates for six days and ferments in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperature, with pumping every day. After malolactic fermentation, the wine is racked, clarified, and filtered prior to bottling.
"Dark cherry color with lilac tones. Intense aroma of ripe fruits: blackberries and dark cherries. Smooth, balanced, fleshy, full in the mouth."
