Rich yet velvety oaked Syrah with full flavour from northern Rhone valley. Powerful yet elegant; the lovely dark ripe bramble fruit is balanced by sleek oak and supple tannins.

The Crozes Hermitage appellation is around 1300 hectares in total size, varying from flat clay soils to steep granite terraces. The 'Haut du Fief' comes from the best steep terraces that Cave de Tain can lay hands to, where the superior aspect to the sun and free draining granite makes for intense and satisfying wines.
Inky dark purple, almost black at the core. Aromas of blackberry, black olive, cumin and cedar. Very smooth on the palate with fine grained tannins, drinking nicely now but will age happily another 2-4+ years.

Cave de Tain is a Co-Operative producer based in the town of Tain L’Hermitage – the wine centre of the Northern Rhone Region, and based at the foot of the infamous ‘Hermitage’ hill. Cave de Tain is the largest producer of AOC quality Syrah in Europe, formed in 1933 to combine the strengths of dozens of individual growers in the region.
