Bardolino is a well known appellation on the eastern shores of Lake Garda, a stones throw from Verona in Northern Italy. The original vineyard area is an amphitheater of vineyards closest to the lakeside town of the same name is permitted the 'Bardolino Classico' label and considered superior to 'Bardolino'.  It is very similar in style to nextdoor Valpolicella, though lighter and more fragrant in comparison.

This is a classical example of Bardolino produced by Cantina di Soave, an important wine co-op based in Verona. The wine is a blend of Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella grapes, pale bright colour. Light, clean fresh wine featuring strawberry and cherry fruits, with light fine tannins and a fresh finish. Very appealing alternative to Beaujolais and other light bodied red wines.
