Bella Conchi Cava Brut Reserva
Reserve Cava from Penedes.
Cava is made in the same way as Champagne, using the 'Methode Traditionelle' but instead using native Spanish grape varieties. This version is a classic example, and a step up in quality being a Reserva. The grapes are picked at night to preserve freshness in the grapes and avoid early fermentation, initial cool ferment before the important second ferment in bottle, aging on lees in the bottle for a minimum of 15 months before disgorgement.
Brilliant gold & hints of green. Fruity and lightly toasted aromas. Dry (Brut) but also round and creamy mousse on the palate with impressive texture and length.
Varietals: Xarello, Paralleda, Macabeo (traditional Cava blend) with 10% Chardonnay.

Having lived in Spain for many years cava is a firm favorite and this cava is definitely up there. Some Catalonia a prefer cava to champagne and this is one of those to convince. 5 stars!!
Out go to bubbles. Better than chanpagne
