Crozes-Hermitage is not a region well known in NZ, however it is the largest appellation in the Northern Rhone. This is 100% Syrah, the only red grape permitted in the region, and the first origin of the grape.  This is a premium example from the famous Co-Op Cave de Tain, fruit coming from their best hill terrace sites in the appellation.  Savoury, balancing dark fruit with meaty and spicy notes.

Jaffelin bills itself as the smallest of the 'great' Burgundy houses, and this wine offers up a look at classical Red Burgundy - 100% Pinot Noir.  A balance of complexity and elegance, and true to the region offering some earthy substance behind its pretty fine tannins.

Lalande de Pomerol sits alongside its more famous neighbour St Emilion in the epic right bank of Bordeaux. Classically these wines are a blend of Merlot and Cabernet Franc, this example offering up blackberry, chocolate covered blueberries, cedar, pencil shavings with that distinct Bordeaux tang.
