Look no further if you enjoy very bold savoury wine, this rendition of Malbec will knock your socks off.  Big drying tannins with deep earthy notes, sleek blueberry green herbs.

Cahors is ground-central for the Malbec grape, and while Argentina produces substantially more of this grape than France they are virtually unrecognisable from the original version.  Malbec is known locally as 'Côt', and must make up a minimum of 70% of Cahors wine to produce a meaty, herbaceous and savoury dry red wine.

Chateau de Hauterive is a 21 hectare estate, above the Lot river in the hands of the Filhol family since 1885. This wine is a combination of 70% Malbec and 30% Merlot, grown on a mix of silicous clay and gravely limestone soils.

The vineyard is certified HVE - Two Stars (exceptional!) from the Guide Hachette.
