Two stunning aromatic white wines from Alsace, beautifully balanced with exotic tropical fruits, freshness, and richness. Massively versatile food pairings too. New vintages on the way, clearance at cost while they last.
The Pinot Gris is a dry-ish style, hand picked, gently pressed, fermented at cool temperatures with no oak and matured on fine lees for 4 months. Aromas of green pears, clover honey, and orange marmalade. Flavours of quince, mango, sage, and a touch of savoury minerality on the finish.
The Gewurz is more luscious, from a single block cropped to Grand Cru standards. Creamy notions of honeysuckle, jasmine, and mandarin fill the nose on this wine. Explosive tropical fruit on the palate, a concentrated texture that brings a fatness and length not seen in NZ examples. The finish is fresh and nuances of cardamom and ginger. Stunning wine.
